Upon successful completion of this level, students will have familiarized with how:

C1.1 (Unit 1, 2, 3)

​- To communicate with a colloquial register

– To place emphasis in relation to the communication context

– To object and contradict an idea or someone

– To read contemporary Italian prose

– To avoid vulgarity

– To recognize regional variants of Italian​

C1.2 (Unit 4, 5, 6)


– To describe and narrate with precision an event or series of events

– To use a cultivated language to describe positively or negatively a person, a thing or a place

– To express what it might have happened in the past, with accuracy

– To be aware of incorrect forms that are accepted in colloquial spoken Italian

– To use and understand puns

– To differentiate homographs, words that are spelt the same but are not necessarily identical in pronunciation

C1.3 (7, 8, 9, 10)


– To build their own arguments without effort and with minimal search for expressions

– To use idiomatic expressions and understand non verbal communication such as gestures

– To use and understand neologisms
